Azimio La Umoja leader Raila Odinga’s daughter Rosemary Odinga has recovered her eyesight.
She underwent specialised treatment in India’s Sreedhareeyam Ayurvedic Eyecare Hospital.
During an interview with DD TV, Rosemary stated that she has fully recovered and that she can clearly see.
In 2019 she suffered a stroke and brain tumour which damaged her optic nerves leading to loss of vision.
“Before coming to India for treatment, I was pretty much living in darkness. I was simply existing. I was not living. I had a tumour in the brain I had an aneurysm so one of the aneurysms was leaking and then that caused a stroke.
She received her treatment at Sreedhareeyam Eyecare Hospital where she underwent Ayurveda, a traditional Indian system of medicine that aims to preserve health and wellness by keeping the mind, body, and spirit in balance and preventing disease rather than treating it.
The hospital has been practising ayurvedic eye care traditionally for about 300 years now.
Her doctor added that her optic nerve was damaged but they were able to regain her sight.
“When she came a few days ago, she was excited that she could see everything. Before this visit, she had come during the Onam season and she was fascinated by the taste and smell of the food on offer
“This time, when she could see the dishes and her room, her happiness knew no bounds,” he said.
