Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria announced that he will not defend or content any political seat in the coming General Elections.
According to Kuria he will be focusing on building his Chama Cha Kazi Party countrywide to gain popularity and have good number of leaders in the next government.
Speaking on JKLive on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, Kuria disclosed that he is satisfied with the years he has served the people of Gatundu.
“I think I have served the people of Gatundu South for a solid nine years, and I’m proud of the job I have done there. As of now, my single focus is to build a strong party that is going to assure a lot of people who are currently not very assured.” he said.
Adding that he wants to set an example by breaking the monotony of political leaders who want to be in power forever, whereas there are others who want to be leaders also.
” It is good to give other people a chance so that they can also do something different from what you did. That is why I have given someone else an opportunity,” he added.
The lawmaker noted that since he has been out of the country the DP William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga have since subscribed to coalitions; Kenya Kwanza Alliance and Azimio La Umoja saying that he even don’t know their visions.
“Kenya Kwanza and Azimio were formed while I was in a hospital bed, I can only be crazy to purport that I support things that were formed while I was in a hospital bed… I don’t really understand what is happening now, so many things have changed and I think it’s only fair that we get some time to study that,” he said.
The vocal leader further stated that last time he was in the country, he was a member of Hustler Nation and he even don’t understand how it transitioned to Kenya Kwanza.
“By the time I left Kenya, I belonged to the ‘Hustler Movement’ how it changed from ‘Hustler Movement’ to ‘Kenya Kwanza’ I do not know; I have not received a memo,” he opined.
However, he reiterated that he is still close friends with Deputy President William Ruto.
