British actor with Ugandan roots has been feted the Best Supporting Actor in the 78th edition of film awards The Golden Globes.

The actor’s feat was subsequent to his shrewd portrayal of American Black Panther leader and activist Fred Hampton slain at the age of 21 in the acclaimed movie Judas And The Black Messiah.

Kaluuya’s parents are England immigrants from Uganda.

The thespian has kept his affiliations to Uganda tight, nipping into his ancestral country a few times.

In 2018 he was hailed by Ugandans for his role on the monumental film – The Black Panther and sent his Ugandan fans Black Panther memorabilia.

The actor has received a number of wins and nominations, including a nomination in the most revered film awards – The Oscars for his chops on Black Panther in 2018.

Give or take the films he’s known for, Daniel has appeared in; Black Mirror, Get Out, Kick-Ass 2, Widows, Queen and Slim et al.

As a footnote; it was two wins for East Africa, with Kenyan comic Elsa Majimbo giving a monologue as the show’s preamble.
