Dp Ruto to allow exiled Miguna Miguna back in the country if elected president

Deputy President William Ruto has vowed to allow exiled lawyer Miguna Miguna back in the country once he wins the Presidential seat in the coming August polls.

While in an interview with Voice Of America (VOA), Ruto harshly condemned the acts of the government exiling Miguna stating that if the lawyer was wrong he could have been punished in accordance with the law.

“We will bring back Miguna Miguna in the country within the shortest time possible when I become President. Because he’s Kenyan and even if he has committed a crime, our country has laws in place. I don’t see any need for having refugees from other countries while our very own is a refugee in another country,” said Ruto.

Miguna who currently resides in Canada was deported in in 2018 over the mock swearing-in of the ODM leader Raila Odinga as the ‘people’s president.

The outspoken lawyer has severally attempted to come back to Kenya on the strength of court orders but the government has been adamant that he needs to reapply for citizenship afresh.

In a recent tweet, Miguna openly claimed that no matter the efforts put in by Raila Odinga in his campaign, Dp Ruto will still win the elections even if they are rigged.
