The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is searching for a coastal man captured on camera torturing a suspected thief with hot plastic.
While sharing the gory video, the DCI ordered the man to surrender at the nearest police station by Monday evening, April 5, 2021.
“The inhumane punishment meted on the victim, on suspicion of having committed a crime is not only callous but uncalled for and an affront to the victim’s fundamental rights and freedoms.
“In this regard, the DCI is demanding that the suspect presents himself to the nearest police station within 24 hours, failure to which he will be declared a dangerous and wanted criminal,” the statement read.
Consequently, a special team from the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau, Special Service Unit, and the Operations Branch has been assembled to help in the expeditious arrest of the suspect.
A video that has since gone showed the man holding a burning plastic net over the suspected thief who was tied to a metal pole.
“It’s my first time, it’s my first time,” the victim wailed and groaned as the man allowed the hot molten plastic to drip on the man.
