The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has unmasked the mastermind behind the sexual harassment of a female motorist along the Wangari Maathai Road in Parklands, Nairobi.
The DCI sleuths identified the culprit as Zachariah Nyaora Obadia.
“This is after undercover agents drawn from the elite Crime Research & Intelligence Bureau (CRIB) and DCI Nairobi Regional Headquarters, arrowed down on the suspect identified as Zachariah Nyaora Obadia. Using digital forensics, the sleuths working with cybercrime experts at the DCI National Forensic Laboratory, placed the thug at the scene of the crime scientifically and went after him this afternoon deep in Mukuru Kaiyaba informal settlement,” DCI said.
Nyaora who lives in Mukuru Kaiyaba informal settlement was aware of the ongoing crack down, quickly used the sewer duct in the area to escape before DCI nabbed him.
“The suspect who is aware of the ongoing crackdown on errant boda boda riders escaped our dragnet by a whisker, via a sewer duct in the densely populated settlement. The suspect has also been positively identified by his wife and other relatives in his rural home, sexually assaulting the victim in the widely shared videotape. It is only a matter of time before we arrest him.
According to authorities, Zacharia was positively identified to be in the video by his wife and relatives on Tuesday.

DCI has since warned Zacharia not to engage detectives in cat and mouse games but to surrender at DCI Headquarters or the nearest police station within the next 24 hours.
“The Directorate of Criminal Investigations is cautioning Zacharia Nyaora Obadia, not to engage detectives in cat and mouse games but to surrender at DCI headquarters or the nearest Police station within 24 hours,” DCI stated.
